How to conserve the environment without doing much

I was wondering how we can conserve the environment with the simplest ways possible, like without having to do much. Considering that we don't have a lot of time to research on how to or the boldness to carry banners about the matter around, this article will be helpful for revolutionists out there looking for ways to approach it.

First of all, you will want to carry your own shopping bag when you go shopping. Re-use Eco-shopping bags and avoid plastic bags as much as possible, well you don't have a choice on this one or do you? Avoid buying a new bag every time by always carrying one all the time.
Car-pool, not only because its cheaper but also because it reduces emissions in the air by a huge percentage. Once in a while it is advisable to even walk. I know that doesn't quite make sense, but try it, you might loose a pound or two in the challenge also. If walking one way to your destination proves tiresome, it means you are unfit, yes, unfit, use public transport for your way back and you will be all good.
Service your car often. People, it doesn't cost much to have your car serviced at least once in two weeks. Plus, you already know that getting a car means you will have to incur the charges of servicing, I mean.
Reduce the amount of meat you eat. It is estimated that a quarter pound of  beef is equal to approximately 460 gallons of water. Factor of this is calculated in the methane, as well as other greenhouse gas emissions of cattle and the fossil fuels it takes to get that beef to you. Above everything else, we all know that eating a lot of meat is unhealthy, not taking meat for lets say twice per week ain't gonna hurt no one.
Avoid disposables to the utmost. Buy ceramic cups and plates to avoid buying and disposing every time you need them. If you buy a cup of coffee in a disposable cup every day, you contribute to up to 23 pounds of waste per year.
Buy secondhand furniture and revamp it. This saves trees and money.
Unplug unused appliances to save electricity. Actually if you leave anything plugged in the socket, even if the socket is switched off, it still consumes electricity. Replace your light bulbs with LED and energy saving fluorescent. An LED light can be seventy five percent more energy efficient than your old incandescent light bulbs and can last up to 25 times longer. Use your washing machine only when you have a full load. You could save 1000 gallons of water in a month. Imagine.
Try shortening your shower by just a minute. If you did this, I did this and twenty other people did the same, then we could save approximately 40,000 gallons of water in a year. That simple thing.

There we go good people. These are just but a few manageable, uncomplicated and basic tips we can start observing to get a more sustainable world. All the best as you try the 'How-tos'. Go people.
