Cheap Travels

Do you always feel like travel is an expensive practice? You think that you have to have thousands of dollars so that you can have a good time outside with nature. Well let me prove you wrong. If you think that is the case you should know that adventure spirits only need five things to have a good time. The spirit of adventure, the will to go outside the house, a bottle of water, a few snacks and some change money for transport to the destination. If you live within CBD then Ngong' hills is one of the cheapest adventure you can ever have. Fare from CBD is Ksh 100. Entrance to the hills is not more than Ksh 200 for Kenyan citizens and for non residents it costs up-to Ksh 600. It is located approximately 25 Km southwest of Nairobi and it covers a whole lot of area of 3077,6 hectares. That's so big! The Ngong' hills are peaks in a ridge along the Great Rift Valley, in layman's language it is a series of seven hills.

I finally visited the place to quench my thirst for adventure. It was a chilly Saturday morning. I had looked forward to hiking there someday but I didn't know who to go with. I never thought  this place existed, in Kenya. I didn't anticipate for such awesome views. I didn't know there existed a place around Nairobi that has such fresh air, free from dust and pollution. A place so green that you can't turn off your camera for a minute. If I could, I'd live there someday. It was an amazing experience. However, if you plan on hiking there, please be fit, stay fit and carry your own water and snacks. Be ready to get tired because you will. Carry a face towel to wipe your sweat because you will sweat it. Have an extra hoodie in your bag, assuming you will already have one on, the place is very cold. It even gets misty at times such that you can't see the next hill. It is worth the try though because you get time to reflect on your life as you experience the freshness. Even better, you can go to pray over there because you get such spiritual awakening by viewing the place and experiencing a good countenance. 

Feel encouraged to visit the place. It takes only your time and a few coins to have fun so don't feel limited. There you go guys. Go out. See the world. Take pictures. Bond with nature.
